Classic Children's Books on iPad

July 8, 2011

In the hopes of passing on the great, cherished children’s books to a new generation of kids, publishers have created interactive apps for the iPad and iPhone. The eBookNewser has featured a list of their ten favorite iPad apps based on some of the most beloved children’s books of all time. At the top of their list is Green Eggs & Ham followed by Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Alice in Wonderland. The Alice app makes use of many of iPad’s interactive capabilities: readers can tilt their iPads to make Alice grow or shrink and play games involving characters from the story.

Apps for books such as The Velveteen Rabbit and Jack and the Beanstalk feature audio narration from stars such as Meryl Streep, and readers can even record their own voices for personalized narration.
