9:00 a.m.— Enrych Buckinghamshire presents: Creative Nature Writing Workshop (Online). Spend time with the online writing community and get inspired by nature-based prompts and imagery. 2:00 p.m. Join Irish writers across the Atlantic for READING ULYSSES ONLINE. The Joyce Reading Group meets weekly to read aloud Ulysses. These readings are meant for those new to Joyce and for those already familiar with his work. Registration is free, and this event will take place online.

Noon— Thought Fox presents an ONLINE EVENT: How to Write a Novel. Published panelists Diksha Basu, Crystal Maldonado, and Amy Shearn will discuss how to start your novel, keep momentum going, finish your novel, and prepare for publication. Thursday, August 10

7:00 p.m.— Join the Gwinnett County Public Library for: Poetry Reading | Jacqueline Trimble | How to Survive the Apocalypse. This poetry collection, the second from poet Jacqueline Trimble, explores the Black experience in America. Jacqueline is a National Endowment for the Arts Creative Writing Fellow, a Cave Canem Fellow, and an Alabama State Council on the Arts Literary Fellow. Saturday, August 12

12:30 p.m.— OutWrite DC presnets Writing About, With, and Through AIDS, part of DC’s LGTBQ+ Literary Festival. This panel focuses on where the AIDS crisis is at in current time and its continuous impact on the LGTBQ+ community. Hear from poets and authors Reginald Harris, Philip Clark, Charles Rice-Gonzalez, Steven Riel, and Gerard Cabrera. Registration is free, and this event will take place online.

7:00 p.m.— Honor poetry with Post City Poetry Coast-to-Coast: Reading and Book Celebration. Come out for a virtual poetry reading celebrating the release of books from Ali Lanzetta, Deborah Wood, Ivan Hobson, harold terezon, and Anhvu Buchanan, all alumni of San Francisco State University’s MFA Program.
