Glimmer Train August Very Short Fiction Awards. Publication in Glimmer Train Stories. Winners: 1st Place: $1,200, Michael Schiavone for “No One Comes Up Here by Accident.” 2nd Place: $700, Jackie Thomas-Kennedy for “The Bridge is Moving.” 3rd Place: $300, Debbie Weingarten for“Precarious Things.”

2008 Gival Press Short Story Award. $1,000. Winner: Tim Johnston for “Water.” Judge: Mark Wisniewski.
