Gourmet 86'd

December 1, 2009

Condé Nast plans to close Gourmet magazine and other titles, the New York Times reported. Cookie, Modern Bride, and Elegant Bride will also go. The closures come on the heels of a three-month McKinsey & Company analysis of the publishing giant’s costs, which recommended budget cuts of about 25 percent for several magazines. Condé Nast, a company historically reluctant to give up on big names like Gourmet, might be one to watch in the coming months.
