Starbucks Sells Books
October 1, 2006
In October, Starbucks stores will begin selling Mitch Albom’s latest novel, For One More Day. Albom is best known for his best-selling novels Tuesdays with Morrie and The Five People You Meet In Heaven. “This is the next step of our entertainment strategy,” said Starbucks entertainment president Ken Lombard. “Our plan has been to start with music, take the next step into film and add books as the third leg of the stool.” Starbucks will contribute $1 from each book sale to Jumpstart, a nonprofit educational organization that encourages young people to serve their communities.
