Wednesday, January 25

2:00–3:00 p.m.— Join Bell House for another installation of: Shared Reading Sessions. Attend this free online reading-sharing session for an evening of company, discussion, and great literature. This event will take place online.

2:00­–2:30 p.m.— Come prepared to write to another Therapeutic Poetry Workshop hosted by SocietyX. Be your own muse and write from a variety of prompts. There will be time during the session to workshop your poem(s) and receive feedback. Registration is free, and this event will take place online.

7:00 p.m.— White Whale Bookstore presents a Reading & Conversation: Nancy Reddy & Emily Pérez. Nancy Reddy and Emily Perez, coauthors of The Long Devotion: Poets Writing Motherhood, will be reading from Pocket Universe and What Flies Want and discussing creative writing and motherhood. Registration is free, and this event will take place online.

7:00–8:30 p.m.— Come ready to listen to Disability Justice: A Reading, hosted by The Massachusetts Review. Ring in the new year with a virtual reading featuring Zefyr Lisowski, Bhavna Mehta, Claude Olsen, and Saleem Hue Penny. This virtual event will include ASL translators as well as closed captioning. 8:00–9:00 p.m.— Are you 50+? Join the Virtual Older Adult Book Club hosted by Austin Public Libraries. The January 2023 session will feature The Undoing Project by Michael Lewis. Registration is free, and this event will take place online.

Thursday, January 26

2:00–4:00 p.m.— Asia Calcagno leads Decentering Skills and Centering Community: Writing in the Classroom, hosted by Ingenuity. Learn the best practices for building writing community both inside and outside of the classroom, understand how writing programming can be used as a tool to cross cultures, and much more. Asia Calcagno is a current nonprofit leader with a background in teaching. Her writing has been featured in Poetry Magazine and Third Coast, as well as other publications. Friday, January 27

7:00–9:00 p.m.— This Black Girl Reads Monthly Book Club is an inclusive sisterhood that connects through literature. January attendees should come prepared to read Kindred by Octavia Butler. Registration is free, and this event will take place online.
7 p.m.— White Whale Bookstore presents Poetry Reading & Conversation: Mosab Abu Toha w/ Tuhin Das. Attendees should come prepared to discuss Things You May Find Hidden in My Ear, by Mosab Abu Toha, and Exile Poems, by Tuhin Das. This reading and conversation is part of Mosab Abu Toha’s virtual book tour. Registration is free, and this event will take place online.

5:00–6:00 p.m.— Lily Poetry Review presents Lily Book Launch: Arboretum in a Jar by Frances Donovan with special guest Martha Collins. Registration is free, and this event will take place online.

Monday, January 30

6:00–7:30 p.m.— Join the Literature Department Free Library of Philadelphia for a session of Monday Poets: Virtual Reading Series. Maria Famá and Amy Barone will be reading for the last January session. Famá has authored seven poetry collections and was awarded Second Prize in the 2018 Allen Ginsberg Poetry Awards. Barone’s poetry has been published in Muddy River Poetry Review, New Verse News, and Paterson Literary Review, among others. Registration is free, and this event will take place online.

Thursday, February 2

6:30—7:30 p.m.— Curious as to what our Writer to Writer mentors are up to? Attend the NextTribe Interview with Dawn Raffel, Author of Boundless as the Sky. Boundless as the Sky tells the story of cities that thrive around us, both real and unreal. Dawn Raffel is a six-time author, established editor, and has won many awards for her writing. Monday, February 6

2:00–3:00 p.m.— In honor of St. Brigid’s Day 2023, attend Poetry at the Lexicon: Tara Bergin, Dawn Watson and Grace Wells. Join these three Irish poets and authors whose variety work is central to women poets of today. Registration is free, and this event will take place online.
