AWP Updates on TWC

July 11, 2022

Dear Readers,

It is with great consideration and much discussion that AWP has made the decision to move The Writer’s Chronicle entirely online, starting with the upcoming September 2022 issue. For 55 years, we have seen The Writer’s Chronicle take shape and evolve with the demands of the field and requests of our membership. Some of you may remember that before The Writer’s Chronicle we published The AWP Newsletter, which then progressed into the beloved content-packed magazine you know today. Now in 2022, it will go fully digital to bring an expanded and interactive publication to our members and subscribers, as well as minimizing our impact on the environment.

The AWP team is thrilled to share with you the upgraded online experience and the TWC mobile app. The new feature I am most excited about is narration for all issues, making the online version more accessible. Members and subscribers also have access to the full versions of over ten years of back issues! The new digital experience includes quick links to our website, social media platforms, and our YouTube channel.

I invite members, subscribers, and the literary community to preview the upgraded version of The Writer’s Chronicle. Please take the opportunity to explore what is new. View the magazine in its traditional format (page view) or pop out individual articles in content view to facilitate reading on mobile devices. Watch for the September issue to see even more new features! We are truly excited by the opportunity to go green while increasing accessibility for our audience.

Please stay tuned for more upcoming changes from AWP as we continue to evolve and provide improved resources, programming, and engagement for our membership.

All the best,

Cynthia Sherman
Executive Director
