• The National Autonomous University of Mexico launched a new imprint highlighting works by Latin American women that have fallen out of print.
• #AWP13 featured presenter Alison Bechdel’s Fun Home, first a best-selling tragicomic graphic novel, then a Tony-winning Broadway musical, is now headed to the silver screen via Jake Gyllenhaal’s production company.
• The French government has launched an investigation into famed author Gabriel Matzneff for claims of sexual assault.
• Researchers have recovered an early copy of John Addington’s gay rights essay, “A Problem in Greek Ethics.” It is only the sixth copy of its kind.
• This year’s National Book Critics Circle Award finalists have been announced in each category. This year’s finalists include Hanif Abdurraqib, Morgan Parker, Ilya Kaminsky, Edwidge Danticat, Colson Whitehead, Lydia Davis, and more.
