The Nominees for the NAACP Image Awards in Literature and Writing

The nominees for the 48th NAACP Image Awards, which celebrate the achievements of people of color in television, music, literature, and film, were announced on Tuesday.

Cory Booker, Rita Dove, Gwendolyn Hooks, Jamaal May, Trevor Noah, Colson Whitehead, and Jacqueline Woodson were among the many who received nominations in the category of literature, which included fiction, nonfiction, debut author, biography/autobiography, instructional, poetry, and children, youth/teens. The categories for writing included comedy series, dramatic series, motion picture (television), and motion picture (film). See the full list of nominees on the NAACP website.

The NAACP Image Awards will be presented to winners on Saturday, February 11, 2017, in Pasadena by the hosts, Anthony Anderson and Lebron James. More information about the event and how to purchase tickets is on the NAACP Image Awards website.
