The Lannan Foundation announced the winners of its Literary Awards and Fellowships. The awards “were established in 1989 to honor both established and emerging writers whose work is of exceptional quality. The awards recognize writers who have made significant contributions to English-language literature. The fellowships recognize writers of distinctive literary merit who demonstrate potential for continued outstanding work.”

The recipients for 2016 are: Kevin Barry, Fiction; Don Mee Choi, Poetry; Tyehimba Jess, Poetry; John Keene, Fiction; Craig Santos Perez, Poetry (Perez is a member of AWP’s new Inclusion Initiative); Solmaz Sharif, Poetry; and Ocean Vuong, Poetry (Vuong is a featured presenter at #AWP17 in Washington, DC).
