Some things that caught our attention this week.

  • Copper Canyon Press has launched a Kickstarter fund, the New Poets Project, to pay for the publication of debut collections by poets, the first being Javier Zamora’s Unaccompanied. The stated goal: “This year, we are reaching out to you to help us make this commitment to debut poets, first by raising the $20,000 it will take to edit, design, and print our forthcoming publication of Javier Zamora’s Unaccompanied, and then by aiming for the stretch goal of $30,000, which would allow us to schedule a second debut poetry collection to be published in 2017–2018.”

  • Book recommendation site Goodreads has launched a personalized ebook deal program, according to Publishers Weekly. The deals are based on books that users have marked as “Want to Read.” PW reports that “Members can buy the discounted titles from five different retailers—Amazon, Nook, Apple, Kobo, and Google Play. Publishers and authors can designate their preferred retailers for the discount.”

  • Over at LitHub, read a Q&A with eleven poets on running small presses, the “Unsung Heroes of the Poetry World.”
