December 1, 2008

Ladette RandolphLadette Randolph assumed duties as Director and Editor-in-Chief of Ploughshares October 1. She replaces DeWitt Henry, who had served in an interim role. According to Henry, Randolph was chosen from a pool of forty-eight outstanding applicants. She was “offered the post,” he said, “based on her long record of successful editing and publishing and her administrative experience.” Prior to taking the position, Randolph worked in editorial and directorial capacities at Prairie Schooner and, then, as Director of the University of Nebraska Press, where she initiated the American Lives and Flyover Fiction series. Randolph received a Nebraska Book Award for her story collection This Is Not the Tropics.
