Garrison Keillor Writes Again

October 1, 2007

Garrison Keillor’s new book, Pontoon, is the fifth in the series chronicling the fictional Lake Wobegon, the town he has been talking about on his radio show, “A Prairie Home Companion,” for more than thirty years. The book’s release coincides with the new season of Keillor’s popular Minnesota Public Radio show. Though the book is sure to feature fans’s favorite locales, like the Chatterbox Café and Ralph’s Pretty Good Grocery, Keillor’s return to print will be a shorter one, as Pontoon is only 248 pages. “For me, that was manageable,” said Keillor. “I’m telling my publisher I want to write a series of short novels. Now that I’m suddenly a senior citizen, I don’t want to spend years reading a book.”
