NEA Awards Writers More than $1 Million
Publishers Weekly Online reports that the National Endowment for the Arts will award $20.2 million to fund 908 grants. The Arts Endowment will distribute most of the money during FY 2008 to nonprofit national, regional, state, and local organizations across the country through the NEA’s Access to Artistic Excellence category. Dave Eggers Wins $250,000 Heinz Award in the Arts and Humanities Category
Established in 1993 by Teresa Heinz in memory of her late husband Senator John Heinz of Pennsylvania, the awards, according to the Heinz Family Foundation, which administers them, “recognize exceptional leadership and accomplishments in areas of special interest to Sen. Heinz.” Read more...
