Sarah Schulman is a novelist, nonfiction writer, playwright, screenwriter, and AIDS historian. Her 20 books include LET THE RECORD SHOW: A Political History of ACT UP, New York 1987-1993 (Lambda Literary Award in Nonfiction, Publishing Triangle Award in Nonfiction, NALGJ Excellence in Journalism, John Kenneth Galbraith Award in Nonfiction from PEN (finalist), NY Times Notable Book, the novel MAGGIE TERRY, a story of murder and intrigue, published in Fall 2018 by The Feminist Press. Previous works include CONFLICT IS NOT ABUSE (Arsenal Pulp), winner of the 2017 Publishing Triangle Non-Fiction Prize, and the novel THE COSMOPOLITANS (Feminist Press) selected by Publishers Weekly as one of the best American novels of 2016. Sarah is currently collaborating with icon Marianne Faithful on a stage musical, THE SNOW QUEEN. She is on the advisory board of Jewish Voice for Peace, and is faculty advisor to Students for Justice in Palestine at the College of Staten Island, City University of New York, where she is Distinguished Professor.
