Penny Gilchrist

Penny Gilchrist is a transplanted Philadelphian living in Ashburn, Virginia, and she earned her MFA in creative writing from George Mason University. During her final year of school, Ms. Gilchrist won the Mary Roberts Rinehart Nonfiction Writing Award. Her work has appeared in the Washington Post Magazine and various academic publications. She worked as the manager of Mason's annual Fall for the Book Festival, and as a communications director for the university. In the fall of 2015, she left her day job to work full-time on her novel—a lifelong dream come true.
