Melani Martinez

Fall 2015 Session

Melani “Mele” Martinez is a dancer, choreographer, and writer from Tucson, Arizona, with a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Arizona and an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Goucher College. Mele is the recipient of Fourth Genre’s 1st Place Editors’ Prize, and her work has appeared in Fourth Genre, Bacopa Literary Review, and Telling Tongues: A Latin Anthology on Language Experiences. She teaches English at the University of Arizona and is currently working on a manuscript entitled The Molino—a personal narrative of her family's sixty-seven-year-old Mexican food store.

Melani worked with the writer Norma Cantú.
