Laurie Thomas

Spring 2019 Session

Laurie Thomas is a fiction writer and filmmaker with roots in Miami, Florida and Kingston, Jamaica. As a fiction writer, Thomas has been a participant of the Tin House Intensive Workshop and has received a work-study scholarship from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference. As a filmmaker, Thomas was nominated for a 2017 National Magazine Award in Video. Thomas holds an MFA in Film from Columbia University and is a current Tulsa Artist Fellow working on a collection of short stories.
