Laura Steadham Smith

Laura Steadham Smith grew up on the edge of the Mobile–Tensaw delta in southwest Alabama. Her work has appeared in the Gettysburg Review, Post Road, Beloit Fiction Journal, and other magazines. She is the recipient of an AWP Intro Journals Project award, the George M. Harper Award, and the Hamlin Garland Fiction Award for the Short Story. She holds an MFA from Florida State University and has attended the Sewanee Writers’ Conference. Laura currently lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she teaches AP Language and American Literature at The Dunham School. She is currently writing her first novel.
