Lara Palmquist
Spring 2016 Session
Lara Palmquist is a writer based in Lviv, Ukraine, where she teaches at the Ivan Franko National University. She has been honored with grants and fellowships from Rotary International, the Fulbright Program, and the National Science Foundation. In 2015, her short fiction received second place for the UCLA James Kirkwood Literary Prize, and she was one of ten writers selected to attend the Elizabeth Kostova Foundation Sozopol Fiction Seminars in Bulgaria. Originally from New Mexico, she has also lived in Minnesota, Israel, India, and Sweden, and has worked as a farmer, bookseller, Youth Education Assistant at the Loft Literary Center, and as a regular contributor to the Ploughshares blog. She recently completed her MA in Religion in Peace and Conflict at Uppsala University.
