Fall 2016 Session
Amna Ahmad’s heart belongs to the Sonoran Desert, a place she fell in love with while studying in Tucson and that inspired her graduate degree in biology. Amna’s novel-in-revision, The Encyclopedia of Hallucinations, explores the fraught navigation of cultural identity through the lens of a young Pakistani-American woman. Her current work is a memoir about being a mother and a writer after life-threatening illness. Amna's writing has appeared in Adbusters and in You Are Here: A Journal of Creative Geography. Born in Washington, DC, and raised in both Pakistan and Arizona, Amna lives in Brooklyn with her family.
