Amanda Niehaus

Spring 2016 Session

Amanda Niehaus (www.amandacniehaus.com) has a PhD in ecology and is an ARC Research Fellow studying sex and ageing in wild animals. Born and raised in Iowa, she has lived or worked in Patagonia; Brazil; British Columbia; western Alaska; Arizona; and Queensland and the Northern Territory, Australia. She’s published more than fifteen academic papers as well as short essays and stories in Peppermint magazine, Monkeybicycle, and Creative Nonfiction. She’s currently writing a novel.

Amanda worked with the writer Alice Sebold.
