AWP's mentorship program, Writer to Writer, typically runs twice a year for three months per session. We match emerging writers with published authors to work toward the mentees' writing goals. Mentors volunteer their time and receive a free one-year AWP membership. Writer to Writer is free of charge, though we do require that mentees have an active AWP membership to participate in the program.

Season 20 of Writer to Writer runs May 6–July 26, 2024. Mentee applications for Season 21 will open in February 2025. Mentor applications are currently on pause, but you can email mentorship@awpwriter.org for more information.

Due to some exciting new website updates in the works, we will not be hosting a fall session in 2024. We will resume our regular schedule in 2025.
