First Friday Book Talk & Reading Series features writers from around the world who have Nebraska connections, a national presence, and a new book. Online, 12:00-1:00pm CST.

Therese Svoboda will read from two books published in 2024, the speculative novel, Roxy and Coco, whose title characters are harpies, mythical bird women, who try to save the world by preventing child abuse – except they tend to murder difficult parents; and The Long Swim a collection of inventive, dark, and absurd, the stories that capture Svoboda’s clear-eyed, wry angle on the world: a place of violence and uncertainty, but also wild beauty, adventure, and love both lasting and ephemeral. The book is a Juniper Prize winner.

There is no charge for this online event. Please register at https://larksongwritersplace.org to receive a free Zoom link.
